Commissioned Portrait of Derek
This portrait of Derek was a joy to paint, he is such a lovely man, aged ninety two, although you wouldn't think it! He told me about his life as he sat for me and there was a lot of laughter! One thing I did find particularly fascinating was that he new Plymouth painter Robert Lenkiewicz, (sadly no longer with us) who is a particular favourite of mine, and how he helped Robert gain recognition.
Robert had an extraordinary life, worth a read if anybody is interested!
